HOFFMAN, CEDRIC REGINALD Passed away May 2, 2014 at Haven Hill Retirement Centre in Penticton. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 13, 1929 and went to Montreal, Quebec at the age of 20 months due to his father's death, where he lived until he was 16 when he moved to British Columbia in 1945. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheilagh (nee Lyons); their 4 children, Heather (Bill) Adams, Christopher (Julie) Hoffman, Timothy (Rhianon) Hoffman and Patricia (James) Skarbo; 6 grandchildren, Rachel (Willis) Schneider, Matthew (Ria) Adams, Jordan and Alexandra Hoffman, Joshua and Chelsea Skarbo and one great grandchild, Liam Schneider. Also survived by brothers, Cyrille Hoffman and Richard Atkinson; sister, Gloria Atkinson and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Virginia Wright and brother, Robert Hoffman. He loved his family very much. He was an avid chess player, enjoyed remodeling houses and canoeing and was an active member of St. Saviour's in Penticton and St. Stephen in Summerland. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Stephen Anglican Church Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. Memorial tributes may be directed to The War Amps (CHAMP Program). LEFEBVRE, Kenneth Noe Passed away on August 12, 2014 at Kelowna General Hospital, surrounded by his family. Ken is survived by: daughter, Kim (Jim) McEachern of Kelowna; sons, Ken (Julie) Lefebvre of Salmon Arm, Kevin (Barb) Lefebvre of Penticton and James (Angela) Lefebvre of Hamilton, Ontario; three grandchildren, Kyler, Jonathon and Maya; sister, Simone (Ken) MacRae; brothers, Morris (Audrey) and Gary Lefebvre. Also survived by many extended family. Predeceased by his loving wife, Joyce in 1988 and his four legged friend Max. Ken was a long time Penticton resident and worked 30 plus years with the McGavin Bread Company throughout the Okanagan. He will be lovingly remembered for his generosity and strong dedication to his family. A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16th, 2014 at Everden Rust Funeral Services, 1130 Carmi Avenue, Penticton. SUTHERLAND, George Ross With sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Ross Sutherland on August 10, 2014. Born on Dec. 24, 1927 in Moose Jaw, SK, Ross spent his early years in Saskatchewan and Trail, BC with his parents, Kenneth Dwayne and Isabel Dunbar (Brownell) Sutherland and siblings, James Sinclair, Ruth Matilda and Kenneth Francis. He moved to Vancouver as a teenager where he attended Kitsilano High and worked as "Flash Delivery" for a local pharmacy. Ross left school to join the Royal Canadian Navy in 1945, serving aboard HMCS Crescent and HMCS Ontario before his honourable discharge in 1949. Ross held a number of jobs after the Navy. While working as a psychiatric nurse at Riverview Hospital, Ross met the love of his life, Agnes Jean Stene, on a blind date arranged by his cousin. Ross married Jean on Sept. 3, 1955 in Burnaby, BC and, on her urging, enrolled at the University of British Columbia. Following two years of undergraduate Arts, Ross entered UBC Law School. After graduating in 1959, Ross articled with White, Shore, Davis in Vancouver, then moved to Kelowna to begin his own firm of Wilkinson, Sutherland and Phelps. Ross carried on a very successful litigation practice in Kelowna, and Ross and Jean welcomed their first two children there, Sharon Belle and Daniel Ross. On June 27, 1967, Ross took up an appointment as a Provincial Court Judge and moved to Tsawwassen, where he and Jean lived the rest of their lives. Their third child, Laura Jean, joined the family there. Ross served as a judge until 1997. As well, he acted as Chairman of the Motor Carrier Commission from 1975-86, and Chairman of the Motor Carrier Appeal Board from 1994-96. In his later years, Ross worked closely with his son as a director of Great Canadian Gaming. Ross was a dedicated family man who was passionately involved in all of his children's and grandchildren's lives, and gave of himself generously to countless relatives, friends and colleagues. He will be remembered for his humour, his kindness and his mischievous grin. Ross is predeceased by his parents, siblings and wife. He leaves his children and their spouses Sharon (Mark), Danny (Madeleine) and Laura (Mike); his grandchildren Rowan, Darsey, Troy, Cailean, Carly, Kelsey and Amy; and many wonderful relatives and close friends. A celebration of Ross's life will be held at Tsawwassen United Church (693 53 Street, Delta) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Spicer, Charles Charlie passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014 with his children at his side at hospice. He leaves behind his 3 children - Paul (Bev), Jane (Curt), and Neil. He is survived by his partner Mary Tober and her children (Kelly, Corry, Susan), grandchildren and great grandson Quinton. He also leaves his 4 granddaughters, Haley and MacKenzie Winters and Paige and Kaya Jacobsen and former spouse Evelyn. In England he leaves his 2 sisters Mary Hughes and Chris Bennett and in South Africa his brother John. Charlie was born in Ireland but his family moved to Oxford, England at a very young age. After finishing school he completed his apprenticeship to become a plumber. He moved to Canada with Evelyn and the 3 children in 1970. After 1 year in Winnipeg, Charlie found work in Kamloops and has spent most of his time in this town. He worked at Tranquille, at City of Kamloops and worked on maintenance at Pine Grove until his retirement. He always found friends and activities wherever he lived. He loved cricket, which was a part of his life in England, Winnipeg and Kamloops. He was involved with coaching youth soccer and darts for many years and was a proud member of the Moose, Eagles, Legion and Army & Navy club. A celebration of life will be held Sunday August 17th 2014 at 11:00 am at Cottonwood Manor, 730 Cottonwood Ave., Kamloops BC.

NORDIN, JANE MADELINE (MADGE) nee Goldney March 10, 1925 - August 6th, 2014 Born in North Vancouver, predeceased by her loving husband Oliver Harold Nordin she will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is sadly missed by her two sons, Brian (Diana) and Ron (Daryleen). Four grandchildren, Jason (Christy), Crystal Nordin, Robert Mitchell, (JennaChris) Mitchell-Savoie, and five great grandchildren. She also leaves behind all her wonderful friends who reside and work at Athens Creek Lodge where she felt loved and cared for every day. As per Madge's request there will not be a service.

FORBES, Daisy Died in her home at the Williams Lake Senior's Village at the age of 101 on July 14, 2014 in Williams Lake, B.C. She was born in the village of Brown Hills, Staffordshire, England to Nellie (Farmer) and Alfred Jackson December 14, 1912. She married Chris Forbes May 6, 1940 in Aldershot, England. Chris passed away in 1999. Daisy lived independently until about the age of 98. Daisy was a long term resident of Kelowna, BC until she moved closer to her daughter in Williams Lake December 2011. Daisy and her family are grateful for all the loving gentle care she received from the WL Senior's Village staff over the past year and a half. She was well loved by her family too and will be missed by her daughter, Mary Jean (Midge) Smith and husband Tom of Williams Lake, their daughter Kendra (Smith) Dixson, husband Clinton and their baby, Rylan, of Kelowna. Rylan was born 6 days shy of 100 years of his great grandmother, and Midge and Tom's son, Craig Smith, and his fiance, Mara Farwell. She will be missed by her son, Douglas Christopher Forbes, and his wife Lisa (Jackson), Doug's daughter Kristen (Forbes) Plowe, husband Bryan and children Allison, Norah and Roen of Kamloops, Doug's son Michael Forbes and Michael's son Ryder of Victoria, Doug's daughter Jil Forbes of Vancouver and by Doug's former wife Karen (Robson) Forbes of Chase. A Memorial officiated by Reverend Canon Karabelas will be held at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 4619 Lakeshore Rd, Kelowna, BC at 2 PM Sunday, August 17, 2014. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery and refreshments will be served in the Church hall after the service.

CHATERS, Robson 'Bob' Of Penticton passed away on August 8, 2014 at the age of 89 years. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his daughter Diane, grandsons Shane (Debbie) and Blane (Ruth), great grandchildren Mike, Amanda, and Nyla, brothers Henry and Jack, Sister Margie and families. Bob was sadly predeceased by his wife Anne, parents Alexander and Alice Chaters and brothers Alexander, Cecil, and Joe. Bob was born in Blaydon, England but moved to New Brunswick at the age of two. He later moved to British Columbia at the age of 58. Bob drove truck for a living and enjoyed his family. Bob and Anne were married for 62 years. He was also a lifetime member of the Elks. OSBORNE, Marion Jean Passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the age of 91. Marion was born in Eatonia, SK and she and her twin brother, Wilf, were the youngest of six children. They all grew up on a farm near Eatonia and attended school in a one-room school house. She had many happy memories of those days, even though times were hard. After completing her grade 12, Marion moved to Winnipeg and took a Business Course. She soon found work at a small insurance company and made friendships there that lasted a lifetime. It was through one of those friends that she met her future husband, Larry Osborne. They were married 63 years. Marion worked part-time after her marriage at the Celebrity Box Office, selling tickets for the World Adventure Tours and Rainbow Stage, but she was mainly a homemaker and an excellent cook. After "retirement," Marion did some volunteer work for Kelowna General Hospital and she enjoyed travelling with Larry to visit family and friends. Marion was predeceased by her husband Larry, her parents Howard and Ferne Alexander, her sisters Audrey Goodman and Valerie Spillett and her brothers Randall and Wilf Alexander. She is survived by her loving daughter Barbara Osborne, sister Trudy Weir and sisters-in-law: Rose Alexander and Jessie Gothard; also many nieces, nephews and friends - old and new. The family would like to extend warm thanks to Dr. Tereposky and Catherine for years of care and to the wonderful staff at Mountainview Village and Village at Smith Creek for their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marion's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. In keeping with Marion's wishes, there will be no memorial service. GORDON, Nancy Wife of the late Alec Gordon of Yorkton, Saskatchewan formerly of Penticton passed away peacefully in Yorkton on August 1, 2014 at the age of 89 years. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lorna (Don) Szabo; grandsons, Tim (Krystal, Zach and Charlie) and Trent (Jana, Keane and Mia); daughter-in-law, Darlene; grandsons, Geoff and James (Kyndree, Taylor and Cole). She was predeceased by her parents; brothers; Bobby and Duncan; sister, Vi; son, Bob in 2004 and husband Alec in 2008. Nancy was born in Rosehearty, Scotland on April 2, 1925, the third child of Robert and Annie Henderson. Nancy and Alec enjoyed thirty wonderful years of retirement together in Penticton until Alec died in 2008. Nancy remained in their home until she decided that Yorkton was the place to be. In 2010 she moved in with Lorna and Don. Family and friends were Grannie's main focus and she liked nothing better than watching her grandkids and great grandkids having fun. She was active and feisty to the end. We will miss her and will cherish our many memories of her. An evening Memorial Service in celebration of Nancy's life was held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 in Yorkton. Interment will follow in the family plot in the Penticton Cemetery on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Memorials in memory of Nancy may be made to the Salvation Army as gifts of remembrance. JAEGLI, Burton George Burt was born on January 31, 1964 in Regina, SK, and passed away suddenly on July 23, 2014. He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Jaegli of Sparwood, BC, 4 brothers: Mike Jaegli (partner Dawn Weatherbee) of Sparwood, Mark Jaegli (partner Brian Runge) of Regina, SK, Dave Jaegli (partner Lynn LeeRan) of Kelowna, BC, and Jeff Jaegli of Sparwood, his sister Christine Jaegli Ehrler (spouse Karl Ehrler) of Sparwood, and his sister-in-law Marie Steinhauer. Burt is also survived by his beloved nephews and nieces: Amanda, Adam, Robert, Chad, Melanie, Curtis, Ed, Eric, Carolyn, Randi, Brianne, & Khiel, along with several grandnephews and grandnieces. He is also survived by his son, Brad Potter, as well as his large extended family of uncles, aunts, numerous cousins, and several best friends that were considered family to him. He was predeceased by his father, Herman Jaegli in October 1999, and by all of his grandparents and several beloved uncles and aunts. Burt had a great love of all things outdoors, including hunting, fishing, hiking, and quadding. He also loved baseball and two-stepping. Burt worked hard all his life, and took pride in a job well done. The thing he liked most though, was spending time with his family and friends, always ready with a helping hand, a smile, a joke, Burt enriched the lives of all who knew him. MARSON, Donald Grove Don was born October 24, 1932 in Calgary and passed away August 15, 2014 in Kelowna with his loving family by his side. Sadly, Don was predeceased recently by his son, Doug Marson. Don was an educator, a people person, and a natural leader. He obtained his Masters of Education at Washington State University. He taught in Calgary, became a Principal and then Director of Secondary Education before moving to Kelowna where he eventually became Superintendent. Don was a very devoted, caring, and encouraging man. He was loved by many for the efforts he made to help others to solve problems. He was always proud of the fine work of students, teachers, and all levels of School District Staff. He would excitedly tell about their great accomplishments over dinner. "Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative..." was his code. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Maureen, daughter Tannis (John) Battie, daughter-in-law Carol Marson, Grandchildren (his pride and joy) Jarvis, Aly, Tamara, Karen, and Shea, as well as brother Denis(Gerry) Marson, sister in law Gerry (Jack) Cooke, many nieces, nephews, and special friends. A heartfelt thank you to all the nurses, care aids, staff, and volunteers at Village at Mill Creek who have given absolutely excellent care to Don for three and a half years. To the numerous friends that have been there for both Don and Maureen, we cannot thank you enough for your incredible support. SAHARA, Dylan Alexander (March 31, 1993 - August 13, 2014) Suddenly, on August 13, 2014, our beloved Dylan was taken from us to be with God. We sit in silence, while the joy that he brought to each of us connects us all. Everyone he met was warmed by his laughter and his positive outlook on life, both through the light in his heart and the lens of his camera. Dylan Sahara, of Vancouver, BC will forever be Bruce and Lynette's cherished son, treasured brother to Kayla and Lindsay Sahara and a beloved grandson, nephew and friend. His warmth and compassion for others, his wisdom at such a young age and his connection to God, spiritual life and this Earth, will always be remembered. HAAS, Otto It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved husband, father and grandfather Otto F. Haas on August 17th, 2014 surrounded by his family. Born on December 5th 1920 in Mistelbach Austria. Otto spent his early years in Vienna, immigrating to Canada with his wife and child in 1953. He lived in Woodbridge, Ontario until 2008 when he moved to West Kelowna. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Josefine Haas and his two daughters Gabriele Haas Pederson (Lloyd) and Karin Waggoner (Douglas), his four grandchildren Jessica Haist (Ian McEleney), Stefanie Haist (Ryan Apperley), Reed Waggoner, Morgan Waggoner as well as a loving, extended family in Canada, the United States and Austria. Otto will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and his love for life. He enjoyed fly fishing, dancing, keeping up on current events and time with the family.
